Benefit by Helping Colleges Become Capstone Institutions

ACAT encourages your ASO and/or local chapters to help spread the collegiate Capstone Program to colleges and technical institutions in your area.

ACAT has an extensive program in working with colleges to integrate the ABA examination into the curriculum. The Capstone course serves as the culmination of students’ studies in accounting and prepares them to take the ABA examination. The examination serves as an external validation of students’ education in accounting and taxation. Students graduate not only with a degree, but with a nationally recognized credential.

ASOs and their local chapters are welcome to become a member of this partnership by approaching a local college or technical institution and getting the Capstone course accepted as part of the curriculum. In return, you assure that graduates are fully competent and ready to hire.

Some local chapters are even going further and inviting students to attend their meetings and participate in local chapter events.

There is no cost involved. ACAT will supply a packet needed to give to accounting departments. The packet explains the program and the ABA examination. A CD in the packet is a sales program for the Capstone Program and is especially helpful with department heads, Deans and other administrators.
