Reinstatement

Once your credential(s) have been suspended for non payment of dues, you must be reinstated to regain active status and the ability to use ACAT credentials. Accredited status may be reinstated in the following ways:

You may submit the reinstatement fee of $150 and give evidence to the Accreditation Council of the completion of acceptable continuing education in the 12 months immediately prior to filing for reinstatement. The CPE hours required for reinstatement in accountancy are 40 hours, 15 of which must be in accounting subjects and 15 must be in taxation. Hours used for the purposes of reinstatement may not be applied towards renewal.
You may be reinstated by ACAT Board action for extreme or special circumstances.

You may not use reinstatement to avoid the mandatory three-year CPE requirement. You have five years to apply for reinstatement. After that you must retake the appropriate examination.
