It's time to renew your ACAT credential!     


Each year, a renewal fee is due to maintain your credentials. Your renewal fees are due by June 30th each year.

One Credential:       $99
Two Credentials:     $149
Three Credentials:  $189
Four Credentials:    $229

ACAT renewal fees are due June 30th annually and are accepted until August 31.
Renewals received after June 30th are subject to late fees.

Renewals received after June 30 $25 late fee
Renewals received after July 31 $50 late fee
As of September 1  must reinstate


Reinstatement

ACAT annual renewal fees are due June 30th of each year. If you have not paid your renewal fees or met your CPE requirements, you have five years from the date of expiration to request reinstatement.

To reinstate submit the Reinstatement Form and CPE Diary along with the reinstatement fees. 

CPE Requirements for Reinstatement: 

  • Accredited Business Accountant/Advisor (ABA) is 40 hours over the last 12 months, 8 of which must be in accounting and related subjects and 8 must be in taxation.
  • Accredited Tax Advisor (ATA) is 30 hours over the last 12 months in taxation and related subjects and in ethics.
  • Accredited Tax Preparer (ATP) is 24 hours over the last 12 months in taxation and related subjects and in ethics.
  • Accredited Retirement Advisor (ARA) is 24 hours over the last 12 months in taxation and related subjects and in ethics

You may be reinstated by ACAT Board action on an individual basis only for extreme or special circumstances

CPE Requirements


ACAT requires CPE reporting every three years. The current cycle ends 6/30/23.

Accreditation in Accountancy (ABA): 120 hours of CPE during each three-year cycle. 
Accredited Tax Preparer (ATP): 72 hours of CPE during each three-year cycle. 
Accredited Tax Advisor (ATA): 90 hours of CPE during each three-year cycle.
Accredited Retirement Advisor (ARA): 72 hours of CPE during each three-year cycle.


Credential holders who have more than one credential need to have total hours of CPE for the credential with the highest requirement - not the combined number of hours.
